CONTRAST THERAPY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

What are the benefits of Contrast Therapy?

Contrast Therapy has been shown to reduce inflammation, enhance recovery time, increase immunity, detox metabolic toxins, reduce stress and improve sleep, and improve mental clarity.

How does Contrast Therapy work?

Contrast Therapy works by alternating between hot and cold temperatures to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms. The hot temperature causes blood vessels to dilate, increasing blood flow and promoting relaxation. Conversely, the cold temperature causes blood vessels to constrict, reducing inflammation and promoting healing. This contrast of temperatures creates a pumping action that helps to flush out toxins and deliver oxygen and nutrients to the body’s tissues, leading to various health benefits.

What is the difference between a Contrast Therapy with a Hot Plunge vs. Sauna?

Hot Plunge and Saunas are both types of hot temperature therapy. A Hot Plunge involves immersing oneself in hot water for a short period, while a Sauna involves sitting in a heated room for an extended period. Preference between Sauna and Hot Plunge is a personal decision and both Hot Plunge and Sauna can be paired with cold temperatures to provide similar health benefits.

How long does Hot Plunge Cold Plunge Contrast therapy last?

Sessions are either 15 or 30 minutes. It is recommended to start with hot plunge and perform rotations of hot plunge for 2-3 minutes and cold plunge 2-3 minutes. For optimal health benefits contrast plunge therapy is recommended between 1-3 times per week.
